Illegal Sears Tower workers arrested in crackdown arising from security concerns
AP reports that immigrants working illegally at Sears Tower have been arrested by federal authorities. Immigration officials said the arrests were necessary to protect the 110-story building from terrorism.
It’s amazing how there’s always someone willing to “protect” the “rights” of the “oppressed” — no matter how irrationally — and how illegal the activities of those they seek to protect.
To whit: “This is really an outrageous abuse of national security rhetoric to scapegoat people who are doing nothing but working in restaurants,” said Joshua Hoyt, executive director of the Illinois Coalition for the Immigrant and Refugee Rights.
Yeah — that and blatantly violating immigration laws!
