Comprehensive new blawg looks very promising

It has come to my attention (unoriginal use of passive voice to avoid disclosing source) that Walter Olson of Overlawyered.com is involved in a new blawg, PointofLaw.com, that describes itself as “a web magazine sponsored by the Manhattan Institute that brings together information and opinion on the U.S. litigation system.”

Reuters (via FindLaw) reports: “Jobless Claims Climb in Latest Week”
First-time unemployment claims rose 13,000 to 349,000 from 336,000 the prior week.
“A Labor Department spokesman attributed a portion of the rise to the filing of applications delayed by the closure of government offices for a national day of mourning for Reagan the week before.”

Big disability discrimination verdict reported

As I have commented before, most employment cases are not million-dollar jackpots, and it is somewhat unfortunate that the media view as most newsworthy the relatively few that are.
