On bloggers’ importance — we are the new media, and we are keeping check on the traditional media
This has nothing to do with employment law or human resources, but as an enthusiastic Blogger, I felt I had to share. In today’s Wall Street Journal, on the op-ed page, there is a column by Daniel Henninger entitled “Dan Rather and the decline of media power.” He credits bloggers — the new media — with killing the CBS memo story. He also has interesting comments about bloggers in Iraq, and the news from there that we don’t hear from the common media.
Did you know that the US military has been conducting local community elections, peacefully and successfully, in a number of locations “where al Zarqawi can’t find anyone willing to blow himself up in a car bomb so that the bloody images convince armchair pundits of chaos”? Iraqi bloggers do.
