All aboard! Mistakes to avoid in employee orientation

Workforce Magazine has a short piece on employee orientation that’s worth a quick read.

The premise:

People join organizations to do a job, and during their first day on the job all we want to talk about is the rules and reasons we may use for terminating them! It’s insane. And it’s a complete waste of money. But there is a better way.

The author says first-day “information dump” orientations are a waste, and offers suggested alternatives/improvements for this “onboarding” process.
