I just began the new academic year and in honor of that event, I cover Part 2 of a 2-part article on internet college campus recruitment sites. This article, which appears in erexchange.com, offers the following advice geared towards college student recruitment, but I think it applies to ALL kinds of recruitment:
Web pages should have
A consistent appearance: text and links maintain the same style (fonts, heading, and body text size; placement of items) throughout the site.
Page titles are the same throughout the entire section.
The author lists IBM’s U.S. jobs listing page is a great example of what TO DO;
And then lists Aetna’s job website as an example of what NOT TO DO!
The author continues by stressing the importance of privacy statements. He offers Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s statement of privacy as a good example, with some criticism as well. He also recommends looking at GE’s statement on privacy, which he feels is an outstanding example.
