Found It: Most Bizarre Employment Law Cases of 2004
I just stumbled across this listing of the 10 most bizarre employment law cases of 2004. I had been looking for this unsuccessfully and just came across it, thanks to overlawyered.com.
The 10th case on the list involves the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal (Canada), which ruled that a Native Canadian was not discriminated against when her boss called her Kemosabe, the oft-used word from the 1950s show “The Lone Ranger.” The case is being appealed.
The most bizarre case, according to Gerald Skoning, a lawyer for a major law firm,
involves a $1 million “proposal” for the plaintiff’s boss, which caused the plaintiff to sue for sexual harassment.
