If you noticed I had not posted for awhile, it is because I was in Switzerland (Zurich, to be precise), and then Belgium. Zurich is beautiful, clean, safe…and expensive!
Anyhow, there is a new emphasis on e-mail newsletters for talent recruitment. According to this Workforce.com article, companies such as Royal Dutch Shell, Microsoft and Siemens are using this medium to attract potential job applicants. These newsletters
are not as expensive as your might think; Shell estimates it costs only about $12,000 annually to produce. Shell is able to monitor many things, such as how many of the emails are opened (some 60 percent to 70 percent of e-mails delivered are opened). The newsletters can be customized by the recipient as well.
