Love is in the air…….

As it is February 14 today, it is only fitting that we cover a recent survey regarding romance at work.

According to Vault’s 2005 survey, 58% of employees say they have been involved in an office romance, up from 46% in their survey two years ago.

The survey finds that people in love with someone at work tend to be cautious about their relationships, as

only 19% of participants opted to be completely open about their relationships. Others revealed their situations to a few; about 20% were open about it only with certain close friends.

Not everyone dates a coworker; 14% of respondents reported dating a boss or superior, while 19% reported dating a subordinate.

You might be wondering if the “trysts” occur in the workplace. Well, 23% of respondents report a “tryst” in the office, with the office cited as the most common location, followed by the restroom and the conference room. Other places cited include the stairwell, elevator, the boss’s office, a cubicle, the copy room, closet, and the lunchroom.
