More on workers comp fraud — by employers this time

My post last week on comp fraud stimulated a more detailed post at another employment blog.

You can find this post over at The Employment Law Bulletin.

Entitled “Workers’ Compensation Fraud by Employers Drives Costs Up for All,” it starts by describing our Blawg as “One of my favorite politically far right employer-side employment law blawgs.” (See the comments there for our discussion of me being “far right.”)

Employment Law Bulletin says: “I agree with his [George's] sentiment for the most part. However, I would recommend that states begin actively pursuing employer-side workers’ comp fraud with at least a little of the relish that they appear to have for investigating everyday employees.”

This is followed by a summary of an interesting study, including a list of the most common forms of employer workers comp fraud.

Clearly better enforcement all the way around would help keep costs down for the vast majority of employers and employees who play by the rules.
