Recruitment and Talent Management: Predictions for 2005

I think it is quite obvious that internet-based recruitment tools and use will increase in 2005. But beyond that, what other predictions can one make with regard to recruitment and talent management this year?

Dr. John Sullivan writes at Erexchange.com about a number of predictions in this regard, including:

1. An increased emphasis on assessment (read here from earlier ERE article on online assessment);

2. a growing emergence of Internet networking (including, he says, more blogs);

3. the emergence of workforce planning.

    Good, very comprehensive article. Many more good points worth reading (17 plus more bullet points at the end).

    A couple of (low-tech, common sense) points I especially liked:

    “There is literally nothing you can do that will have a greater long-term strategic impact than being talked about in the media for being a well-managed firm that is also a good place to work.”

    “Despite all the talk and the real advances in technology, nothing will come close to the effectiveness of a “no tech,” proactive referral program, where you directly ask your top employees to identify, screen, and pre-sell the best in their field.”
