We Find You Vs. You Find Us: The Tale of Two Recruiting Paradigms

In the ongoing saga of two different recruitment strategies, John Sullivan outlines the differences between them. “We find you” is characterized by employee referrals, professional affiliation lists, most wanted lists (NOT the kind you find in post offices). The “you find us” strategy is characterized by job ads, corporate websites, and job fairs.

John argues that the former approach has advantages in terms of


quality, volume, loyalty and interest. He introduces some interesting ideas, such as magnet strategy, event recruitment, and others.
