Getting Applicants to Join: Marketing Your Company
In another nicely written article on erexchange, Howard Adamsky explains the key points to cover in convincing candidates to come work at your organization.
I don’t think that there is anything earthshattering here, but the article provides a nice summary, along with examples, of some key points to mention in “selling” your organization.
The key points to cover include:
- Provide a world-class interviewing experience (I think that companies need to put a lot more thought into their interviewing process, and not just from a legal perspective);
- Sell the benefits: As the author says, employee benefits (e.g., medical insurance; flex-schedules; etc.) are really important to applicants today;
- Talk about why you came to the company: This is so important — have each interviewer talk a little about why they joined the company.
- Sell the opportunity: The author recommends that you explain what things can accrue from joining the company (e.g., good promotion; new skills to learn)
I suggest that you read the entire article and see how you can improve your company’s marketing to candidates.
