Think You Understand Overtime Laws? Try This Quiz To See!

The new overtime regulations contine to perplex HR managers, and I believe it is always good to test your knowledge.

Now, HrHero.com has provided a nice, but SHORT, quiz, along with the anwers and explanations for you to take.

To take this quiz:

Go here. When you are done, you can automatically score your results and see how you did!

Have fun!

Comments from George:

I just did it and got a lousy 62.50%, missing 3 of 8 questions.

Lessons: These regs are tricky but most often contain the answer, if you take the time to look at them closely, and consider all relevant facts.

Assuming you know the answer is a recipe for failure. You can easily be tricked by a detail, even if you are generally familiar with the exemptions and salary basis rules (what this quiz focuses on).

Overtime litigation is getting big. Small amounts on a per-employee, per week basis really add up when calculated for many employees over the two or three years for which recovery is possible. Lawyers representing employees are very much onto the possibilities of making money from such cases.

So watch your backside in this area!
