Live, From Dublin, It’s Blawg Review

Reminding us of the “World” in “World Wide Web,” this week’s Blawg Review is from Dublin, assembled by Daithí Mac Síthigh, a graduate researcher working toward his PhD at Trinity College, the oldest university in Ireland.
His research is in the contemporary field of what is known as cyberlaw; in particular, Internet governance, intellectual property, and the control of media and information flows across national and regional borders. His thesis is essentially about the regulation of online media.
So, for a bit of Monday distraction (we do Friday humor here, why not Monday distraction?), view the Dublin video at the Blawg Review page introducing this Irish edition.
Then buzz over to this edition of the Blawg Review itself at Lex Ferenda. Of course, you know what “Lex Ferenda” means, right? I didn’t, but I invested ten seconds with Google, then wikipedia, and I promptly learned: “Lex ferenda (also called de lege ferenda) is a Latin expression that means “what the law ought to be” (as opposed to lex lata).”
Ain’t technology great? Now kids, how would I have answered that question twenty years ago? Answer: I could have looked it up in a law dictionary, if I could find one, but even though I have one in the library across the hall from where I sit in my office at this moment, I’d have been too lazy.
And “what the law ought to be”? Cheers to a scholar who cares enough about that to name a Blawg after it!

Thanks! I didn’t know that the Blawg Review folks were going to put up that video. It’s a nice touch, though. Glad you enjoyed the review.
