The Very Best of the Very Many Blawgs in My Labor Day Blawg Review
A few people have complained to me about the length of this week’s Blawg Review. “George,” they said, “isn’t Blawg Review supposed to help us cut through the forest of law blawgs and just see the trees? Shouldn’t it be limited to the creme de la creme? Didn’t anyone tell you to be selective?”
Actually, nobody told me to keep it short and be choosy. Au contraire. Behind the scenes, the sadistic anonymous editor was slipping me more and more juicy links by email — even after the deadline! Can you blame me for assuming I was expected to include them all — no matter how late I had to stay up?
So . . . for those who want to know which of the 100-plus (!) blawgs to which I linked I consider the best, here’s a short list.
My criteria? Just one: whether they patted me on the back for putting together Blawg Review 124 — or at least linked to it.
- Jim Calloway’s Law Practice Tips: “Extremely Noteworthy Labor Day Blawg Review” (“Extraordinary effort should be noted. . . . The Labor Day historical theme is extremely well-executed. . . . I imagine this site will be heavily visited this month, but I wanted to direct my readers to George’s great collection as my Website of the Week for this week.”)
- Diane Levin (Online Guide to Mediation) (comment): “I am in awe of your prodigious Blawg Review hosting talents. This may well be the best one yet–I think you may have pulled off the impossible and topped your first triumph in the rock-and-rolling Blawg Review #15. A most impressive presentation — congratulations!”
- Real Lawyers Have Blogs (“George’s Labor Day Edition is out of this world. Long, detailed and entertaining. This took a LOT of work on George’s part. . . . I’ve chatted and exchanged emails with George any number of times over the last few years. Wonderful guy.”)
- What About Clients? “Promethean Anti-Slacker Blawg Review #124″ (“You won’t see a better specimen of Blawg Review than this one in terms of planning, choice of content and writing.”)
- idealawg “A trio of CCK Blawg Reviews” (“It is creative (take a look at the theme and photos and context and so much more), comprehensive (look at all the fine blawg posts he included and commented on), and knowledgeable (it springs from his knowledge of labor law and history).”)
- Infamy or Praise (“History buffs and Labor Day afficianadoes alike should make their way to this week’s Blawg Review #124, . . . an engrossing history of labor in America. “)
- Minor Wisdom: A “Labor of Love”(“George obviously labored long over it, and the effort shows. Well done.”)
- Ross’ Employment Law Blog: “George’s Amazing Blawg Review”: (“[S]pectacular. Go read it right now!”)
- Likelihood of Confusion: “Labor of Love” (“Blawg Review #124 for Labor Day is
an all-labor lawa regular fun issue “) - Law.com Blog Network: “Blawg Review Goes to Work” (“Is it the longest Blawg Review ever? Maybe. But in the grand tradition of Blawg Review, Lenard takes a theme and explores it to the hilt. And it is a theme well worth exploring”)
- Evan Schaeffer’s Legal Underground (“a Labor Day theme informs a post that must have taken a lot of time to put together. “)
