Check Out New Business Directory From DirectoryM

We’re always on the lookout for quality services that will enhance your reading experience. Recently, we were invited to add a business directory to the Blawg. You can find it on the right sidebar below the favorite posts box.

The directory, provided by DirectoryM, was originally created for companies like Newsweek, Inc, and ZDNet. DirectoryM has recently begun to expand its reach and approached us to be part of that expansion.

In addition to providing a worthwhile service for you, the readers, the directory — in the right-hand column below the “Favorite Posts” box — allows us to generate revenue to help defray the costs inherent in the site as well as the substantial time we put into it.

One of the recent movements on the web has been to increase accessibility to local businesses and organizations. When you want to buy a book, you might not care where it comes from. If you’re looking to buy a business, however, you most likely are thinking local.

The local business directory makes it simple to connect with local businesses and services from your area. (Some may be listed regionally or nationally and therefore will appear in your local listing even if not local businesses.)

The categories you see in the directory were hand picked to be the ones most relevant to small businesses and HR professionals.

For instance, perhaps you just read my post Hospital Comparison Tool May Lead to More Affordable Healthcare, which reminded you that you were planning to comparison-price health insurance options for employees of your growing business. Simply click on the entry “Health Insurance” in the directory, specify your locale, and you’ll see a list of numerous health insurance providers. Just two clicks. . . .
