New Options For George’s News Headlines

The sidebar of this blog, under the heading “George’s Micro-Blogs,” contains five categories of news headlines, with links to the original stories. I select these headlines from numerous sources, and typically update them more often than the main posts in this column.

Previously, I included these headlines in the blog’s feed, which is available by RSS or email subscription. They seemed quite popular, based on my Feedburner stats.

Then I started running the feed through BlogRush, which shows headlines from other blogs here and shows my headlines on other blogs. My news headline setup meant that BlogRush was showing nondescript headlines from my feed like “Links For 2007-11-24 [del.icio.us]” on other blogs, which was not what I wanted.

So . . . I have now removed the headlines from the main feed, and created multiple subscription options, displayed at top right and below. You can choose email or RSS for each.

If you like getting all the headlines together, just select “News From George’s Employment Blawg — All”

If you want headlines on certain topics only, or you prefer to view them separately by topic, subscribe to the topics of your choice.

The “George’s Employment Blawg” option will now be limited to the left-column posts, and will not include any headlines.

I apologize if this change seems to complicate things; I was trying to streamline and take better advantage of available technology, notably the increased sophistication of the FeedBlitz email newsletter delivery system.
