Upcoming series on disparate impact and statistics
George has suggested that in light of Dukes v. Wal-Mart, and some discussions we have had about this case, that I write some postings about disparate impact and the use of statistics.
If there are some issues in this area you would be particularly interested in, please write me at mharris@umsl.edu
Topics to be included are:
A tutorial on statistics
An overview of some cases where statistics have been used, and
Some examples of the kinds of statistics (e.g., census data; applicant flow) that might be used in employment discrimination cases.
I hope to have my first posting in a few days!
